It’s August and my 4 month anniversary of leaving Coldwell Banker in Chapel Hill and becoming an owner/broker of Triangle Area Real Estate. It’s been exciting and wonderful!
That move was a long time coming. After 12 years with Coldwell Banker I was bored with the corporate atmosphere and didn’t feel comfortable with the way big real estate companies have moved away from helping buyers and sellers and moved into the big business of mortgage lending and insurance.
It’s really important to me to help my clients find the perfect spot for them and get the house sold with a minimum of fuss and stress.
The right house is necessary and wonderful but the neighborhood, schools and lifestyle are so important. That’s why I have been making neighborhood and area videos to help show what the Chapel Hill area and the Triangle has to offer.
I’m also making some videos about new homes and so far have a basement video, a video about deposits for a new home, choosing the right homesite,and a first time buyer initial lender meeting for preapproval.
The first few weeks were busy getting my systems in place, designing a logo, changing the web sites, and ordering signs and cards. I have wonderful lending and service providers to help make the home buying and selling process easier but but I don’t receive compensation for the referrals, I provide this as a service to my clients.
I was a little nervous when I first went on my own that my clients wanted that well known sign in the yard and would be reluctant about moving along with me. That didn’t turn out to be true at all. The encouragement I got was awesome!
My First Sale with My Company, Triangle Area Real Estate
My first sale was a presale of new green built construction in the co-housing neighborhood of Solterra in Durham. Accord Homes, Inc. is building the energy star green home.

This Listing Sold in Less Than 2 Weeks!
As well as selling listings I’ve also helped several buyers from out of town and locally find the perfect home and neighborhood for them.
So business is good and I am so happy to be able to do what I love and help my clients investigate the options and move forward with a new stage in their lives.
